e-Patients are getting more and more press lately. This morning I heard some people on the radio talking about how folks are using the internet for support and information. They even dropped the Patients Like Me name. What surprises me more than anything is that it's taking so long to get the medical community to pay attention to the social media explosion.
Let this video about social media rock your socks off.

Speaking of e-patients, in my quest to actually have a personal health record, I recently noticed that Google Health is now connected to Quest Diagnostics. There are a few providers like Cleveland Clinic and Beth Israel who hooked in to Google Health, but not my doc or healthcare system. Anyhow, I’ll be abandoning the lab at Crozer in favor of Quest (a little farther out and less convenient), but worth it if they’ll transfer my results to my Google Health account. This is off the social media topic, but I’ve already seen the video and I felt like commenting!!
